1955 Dalton - Chris Olesen Owner

"I've attached some shots of my TT. Don't know what format or size works for you so I just attached the original digital files.

My 1955 Dalton travel trailer was manufactured in El Monte, California. It was originally sold out of the Ted Wemyss Trailer Sales in Fallon, Nevada. I found it in Carson City, Nevada in June of 2004. In April of 2008 it was "done enough" to take on its first road trip.

I've done all the work myself except for work done on the wheel bearings, brake controller and new hitch chains. My brother rewired the dining room lamp for me. I still need to have the propane stove checked out before lighting the first match! And I need to re-plumb the water tank and waste water systems.

The original refrigerator was replaced with a late model ice box by a previous owner (I'm looking for a vintage refrigerator or at least a door. But it needs to fit through 18 in door/window opening). The table and counter top were also replaced by the PO, I plan to get retro formica. The upholstery was chosen by the PO, which I plan to replace with turquoise and white vinyl.

I stripped, sanded, stained and poly-varnished the interior, I rebuilt one cupboard door, and replaced the panel around the ceiling vent. I also stripped and painted the exterior to the original design and colors, which were still visible after removing the paint. I removed all the windows and trim and wet sanded and polished the windows, and replace the rubber window gasket. I rewired the 12v running lights and added forward amber running lights. The rear lights are original.

The theme is retro/vintage HodgePodgeLodge = part lodge, part 50s whatever. I'm still working on that."
